Toronto Police arrested a man and blew up a suspicious package Tuesday night after a bomb threat triggered the evacuation of Postmedia Place, an office building in the Bloor-Sherbourne Sts. area.

Police sources said it’s too early to determine whether charges will be laid, as mental health issues could be a factor in the case.

In addition to the offices of the Toronto Sun and National Post newspapers, Postmedia Place, located at 365 Bloor St. E., houses consulates and other operations.

Police tweeted that the force’s emergency disposal unit safely detonated a package out of an “abundance of caution” and “all is in order at this time.”
